So Michael Kraft has been asking me to blog again. I don't think that I'm that interesting anymore, I'm certainly not in China. But I promised him I would, and he's going to be relentless. So I stole the list of preggo questions from Lara Moore's blog and I'll answer them.
How far along? 29 weeks today. (I read that at the end of two weeks ago, if she were born she'd have a 95% survival rate. HOLLA.)
Baby is as big as a: Butternut Squash. Holy crap I hope she doesn't also resemble a butternut squash... See below. She's 15 inches. So that's huge.
Total weight gain: 19 lbs. Which I guess is normal? It's enough to make me feel like I've reached elephant-esque status.
Maternity clothes? Yes, Lord. My older sisters gave me a tote FULL of awesome shirts, etc. That tote has been my saving grace this summer. My colleagues at work also let me borrow a tote, perfect for bottoms when I want to wear pregnancy shorts/capris. But the award winner for pregnancy clothes has GOT to be the Belly Band, it makes it so I can wear my normal bottoms. Jesus was whispering into the ear of its creator.
Stretch marks? *sighs* I like to think of them as AWESOME PREGNANCY LIGHTNING BOLT STOMACH TATTOOS instead of stretch marks. Makes me feel better.
Sleep: See the pretty pregnant lady? That's me and my BFF the body pillow every night. And then below her is how I ACTUALLY act.
An anaconda squeezing its prey..
Thanks to Toy Story, I sometimes feel really guilty about squeezing
my body pillow so tight at night, but that's just a movie, right?
Best moment this week:
Baby related- we put together the rocking chair for her nursery, Mom and I finished her quilt tops to be mailed out, and made a little bow holder for her. (Below) She also did this super awesome thing Saturday where she moved across my tummy like a little whale and you could see it. Mommy's little Shamu.
Non-baby related- it was great to see Mike again when I got home from an amazing family vacation and our bathroom is finished and is FABULOUS. We're making lots of progress on the house before Baby L hurricane hits in October. And I'm trying to fit everything that requires energy into this week because school starts next week.
Miss anything? I miss getting off the couch without having to rock back and forth a bit to get enough momentum to get up (see me as cat below). And I'm starting to slow down on the energy front after being busy which is frustrating. A summer beer wouldn't be awful either, but I've been alright.
Movement: Dude, this kid is in training for American Ninja Warriors. She never stops going, going, going. Please allow yourself a mental image of the Energizer bunny in my stomach.
Food cravings: Not really any more. Things just sound either great to eat or terrible. I do have a pedicure craving though. Which is basically the same thing.
Anything making you queasy or sick: If I go a long time without eating, but that doesn't really happen because I'm like Jabba the Hut here. Food me.
Gender: Baby jurl. I mean, girl.
Labor signs: No. Thank the Lord.
Symptoms: Feeling like 1 and 1/2 Melanies?
Belly button in or out? In. Wait, is it going to go out!? (I limit my pregnancy book readings. There's just wayyyy too much out there on all the terrible things that can happen. I read the happy, normal stuff.)
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy, happy. I laugh a lot. But late at night I should really go to bed, because that's when I get sad or nervous.
Looking forward to: Working on house stuff. Feeling productive. And, most of all, meeting baby girl in just ten-ish weeks.
I never commented on here, but I love this. It makes me feel like I'm keeping up!
